| Our school had its beginnings in 1914 where it was originally known as Wyandotte Street School. The school population consisted of 95 students. After World War I ended, Windsor experienced rapid growth in its population. Wyandotte Street School also experienced an increase in its student population and additions to the school's original structure were necessary. Upon the completion of the additions to the school, approximately 1200 students attended the school each day. In 1936, the Board of Education decided to rename Wyandotte Street as, J.E. Benson Public School to honour his memory as the founder of Rotary Schools. Click here to learn more about Mr. J.E. Benson. |
