SUMMARY:
Miss Emily Sands, the writer of Egyptology, apparently left this second book when she disappeared back in 1927. This book, written for Emily's niece and nephew, contains much of the same information she learned about Egypt when on her travels, but she has also included some minor activities readers can try, like translating some pharaohs' names in heiroglyphics, making a common food from a recipe, deciding which labels go on certain artifacts, etc.

WHO WOULD LOVE THIS BOOK? A kid who...
- loved Egyptology
- likes texts that appear "real" and mysterious
- likes texts that engage them and with which they can interact
- enjoys texts with maps, diagrams, illustrations, letters and postcards, journals, timelines, and trivia included

WHAT ELSE?
Unlike the Egyptology book, this handbook contains few if any removable pieces. In all other respects it is comparable. Make sure to check that the pieces have been returned before you return the book!

Other handbooks in the series include The Dragonology Handbook and The Wizardology Handbook, with others likely to come.
