SUMMARY:
Junie B. Jones is an “almost six” year old girl going to Kindergarten and does not like to ride on the “stupid smelly bus.” Her stubbornness and individuality cause her to have difficulty fitting in with her kindergarten classmates. She clashes with various classmates and schoolmates on the bus, as well as with her teacher, who keeps forgetting to add the “B” to Junie’s name. Junie B. hates the bus so much, she ends up hiding in an art cupboard instead of leaving school at the end of the day...but has she learned her lesson?

Developed for primary readers, Junie’s hilarious antics still appeal to reluctant readers in the junior division as the stories are entertaining and you never know what Junie B. is going to do or say next. The book is told in a true kindergarten voice, with simple language, humourous assessment of situations, and above all, a child like honesty that students and adults alike will appreciate.
