SUMMARY: This is the original story about mild-mannered Peter Parker becoming Spider-man. Peter spends his day putting up with the constant barrage of insults and bullying from his classmates. While on a trip to Osborn Industries with his class, however, Peter gets bitten by a laboratory spider. At first it appears to be a harmless bite, but soon Peter begins to slowly make the transition to the superhero we know as Spider-man. At the end of Volume 1, Peter must fight an evil monster who he suspects is the one-time-president of Osborn Industries.
