SUMMARY:
The Kenora Thistles are a “one off team” in 1890.
Kenora (or Rat Portage as it was called then), was lucky to have them…but
they aspired to more. This is the tale of how they came together in Northern
Ontario to play as a cohesive, fantastic team, outlining their struggles,
their changing roster, and their many years of bad luck. Eventually their
success over the “Montreal Wanderers,” which became known
as “one of the hardest fought battles in hockey history,”
resulted in their capturing the Stanley Cup.
