Intervene |
Intervention is trying various strategies to help the child reach an identified goal(s). Resources for intervening include curriculum activities, possible peer interactions and direct teacher involvement with the child.
Some basic intervention guidelines
Follow the Child’s Lead
Match Play to the
Child’s Developmental Level
Activities which are too complex for a young child or too simple for a mature
child cause frustration.
Activities should be planned so that children are challenged without being frustrated.
Respond to Children
as Individuals
Each child comes to the group setting with his or her own personal history and
abilities. Though there are great similarities among children at every age,
each child deserves and needs to be viewed and respected as a individual.
