Find a Webquest: Greater Essex County teachers have written some great Webquests as a result of Webquest workshops. They can be reached by clicking here or following the link on the Student Reference Portal. Want to track these or other webquests on your Palm? Click here (Windows) or here (Macintosh). To read more about Webquests, please visit the Webquest Page. On April 22, 2005, I attended a Webquest workshop given by Bernie Dodge. Lots of good information but there was also a discussion that made so much sense...Mr. Dodge's comment was that the model had been around since 1995 and there are literally thousands that have been written. So, do you need to always write one from scratch? The answer is no. Even if you find a good webquest, the links might be outdated. The suggestion was to adapt and enhance an existing webquest. This makes a great deal of sense and this page explains how to do it. Here's a little tip. Unfortunately,
there are a lot of webquests that haven't been updated since the
original authoring. Links come and go. You can check out all of the
links manually to ensure that it's up to date or use a utility to
do it for you. I like Xenu. Start Xenu - give it the URL to be tested
and let it check the validity of the links. The ownership of the Webquests remains with the original author. Wherever possible, I have included the name and school of the original author. Clicking on the link will take you to the Webquest's original site. |
