Couldn't make it to LaSalle Public School to see Eric Walker in person? Fortunately, it was caught on video on their new RCA Small Wonder camera.

Writer's Blog
http://sdoherty.wordpress.com/

LNST Sherry Doherty has a blog where she is engaging visitors to talk about the Writing Process and regularly posts thoughtful entries about various aspects dealing with the teaching of writing. Like good web resources, it is rich in itself but also points to similar resources on the web.

If you have an internet connect, are in search of resources, or have an opinion about writing to share, you're invited to drop by Sherry's blog and contribute.

OYAP Resource

As thoughts start to turn to courses and course selection for next year, a question about courses and apprenticeships can be facilitated by an addition to the OYAP website.

A new chart entited Apprenticeships in Ontario is available. Students considering studies this area should take a long look at this. It is very interesting and outlines so many of the options that students are afforded when enrolled in these programs.

School Finder
http://www.gecdsb.on.ca/schools/schFinder/

How many times do you hear the question "How do I get to that school?" Well, ask no more. Just head over to the School Finder and check it out for yourself.

All Greater Essex Public Schools have a placemark created for them. An arial view of our distribution of locations serves as a starting point. You might even be able to determine the answer to my Jeopardy question "On a clear day, you can see Wheatley from this school". And, no, the answer isn't Pelee Island Public School!

Because this is generated by Google maps, you can zoom in on specific area. For example, if you wanted to see the schools in the Leamington area, just zoom in!

You'll never be lost again.

Notebook Resources

The implementation of SMART Boards has resulted in all kinds of excitement and heightened student engagement in our schools. As we learn all about the effectiveness and what are the best practices for the technology, folks are not hiding their efforts.

Log into FirstClass, go to Public Conferences, and then Computers in the Classroom to a folder entitled SMART Notebook sharing. You'll have instant access to documents that have proved to be tried and true to the Ontario Curriculum by GECDSB educators.
