Student Reference Portal

First up, the Student Reference Portal is new. Gone are the Flash menus, replaced by pull-down jump menus. Now, you can easily navigate the portal using your iPhone / iPod and even SMART Board navigation is easier.

GECDSB Photo Exhibition

Once again, the Greater Essex County District School Board will partner with Amherstburg's Gibson Gallery to show off some of the very best in student digital photography.

The exhibition will open on May 20 with a reception for parents and students to be held on June 6.

The imagination and skill of students is amazing and it's always an interesting tour through the gallery to see life from a student's digital perspective.

Ecoschools at A.V. Graham Public School

Greater Essex County schools take their responsibility for the environment very seriously. A.V.Graham has taken this responsibility to the web to share their resources with the world in wiki format.

Check out their programs, their partners, and their plans past and present on their wiki site.

About Plagiarism

Mrs. Lawler, Teacher-Librarian at Talbot Trail Public School has a page devoted to plagiarism on her wiki. The language is very student friendly and includes lots of links to off-site resources and videos to help students understand what is correct and what is incorrect when using internet and other resource.

Dr. David Suzuki Public School Website

Well, not really...

But, the newest of the Greater Essex County District School Board's schools is well under construction and the excitement is gearing for the opening of this new school that will be home to students who would have normally gone to Concord or Princess Anne Public Schools.

If you can't drive by the school (although I recommend it to see the construction site), you can check out the progress via web cam or construction pictures. The use of environmental and energy saving built right into the design promises to make this a real showcase for what is possible when it opens.
