The Planet
http://www.forskning.se/infactplaneten/index.html?lang=eng

This is a fascinating interactive research resource. Move your cursor over the various major nodes to get a reaction from the planet.

Then, zoom in on a node or further into sub nodes to continue your research about the various areas of research included at this site.

The resource is incredibly engaging and can provide a great deal of research and may also be used as a launchpad for further discovery.

Collaborative Document Creation

We know that drawing can unleash creativity in students. Equipped with a mouse and an idea, drawing and doodling can make great things happen.

GE has developed this resource that lets you collaborate with others in a different location. An interactive drawing space, complete with a set of tools opens the possibility for the power of drawing to extend beyond the single classroom.

Text2MindMap

Have you ever required a Mind Map on the spur of the moment when you're already equipped with the text?

Text2Mind Map is the perfect tool for this. In the left side of the screen, a text entry area lets you enter your information. Use the TAB key to indent levels to organize your thoughts. As the text is entered, the Mind Map is created in the centre of the screen on the fly.

While the original results are symmetrical and balanced, your mouse or finger on the SMART Board quickly creates a new layout shape.

Viewzi

It's quick easy to get locked into a single way of thinking about search. You know the routine - go to Google and type in a keyword and see what happens.

Viewzi takes the concept of a simple search and adds all kinds of visualizations and different ways at looking at search results. Rather than looking at a single list of results rated using one algorithm, Viewzi opens your eyes to new ways to see results and to find results that you may not have been expecting.

Arounder
http://arounder.com/

For those of us who couldn't make it to Europe this summer, the Arounder website displays virtual tours in three dimensions. It's very engaging and gives you sites and views that you might otherwise have missed.

However, the real gem in this collection for me is the 3D imagery of another location - the moon. Enjoy the high resolution images from Apollo 11, 12, and 17.

Lexipedia

Can we draw more meaning from words if we can visualize them? Check it out yourself at Lexipedia.

Type a word and let the lexipedia do its thing. Think you know all about the word "welcome"? I entered it and got all these results. Nouns, verbs, adverbs, adjectives, Fuzzynyms, synonyms, and antonyms are all returned and displayed.
