Have you ever sat down to do some research or some reading and run across a technical scientific or technological term? Where do you look up these things to find a definition in the proper context?
Most paper dictionaries are great for quick definitions, but by definition, are limited to those things that are part of the formal English language. Science and technology has its own subset of reality. The jargon of the language is enough to puzzle the best.
For example, what is Algol? Try to find that in your regular dictionary. Those of us who studied Computer Science know fondly that it is a programming language. You will find it in this dictionary!
No doubt, the most common way to use this resource is by entering a keyword in the search field that appears when you visit the site. However, that's not your own option.
