Social Studies, Geography, Science

Thanks to CIESC Barry Hancock from General Amherst High School for the lead on this particular website.  A visit reveals all kinds of resources that can be used to help students meet expectations from the Heritage and Citizenship, Canada and World Connections, Grade 9 Geography and so many of the Science and Technology and Science strands.

Located in British Columbia, Race Rocks is on the southern part of Canada's West Coast and is home to many unique tidal flows and history of shipping in the area.  In addition, the First Nations peoples have interest in the preservation of the area for ecology and historical reasons.

All of these aspects blend together to form an information packed site full of wonderful modern and historical images complemented by live videocams.   Information from the site indicates that they will soon be able to present underwater livecams as well!

Above and beyond the actual classroom use, this is just a wonderful site to visit and enjoy.
