This month --- A Transparent Moose

There may come a time when you have a graphic or an image sitting on a Hyperstudio card and you wish to overlay a text image. For example, consider the card below.

If you haven't been to Northern Ontario lately, you might not recognize this magestic beast as a moose. If you just label it by adding a text object, you'll end up with a white background behind the text. Wouldn't it be nice to make the background to the text transparent so that the picture shows through? In fact we can.

Since pictures can look busy when transparent text is overlayed, it's a good idea to choose a font that will stand out. I choose a big bold Stencil font and turned off scrolling or a frame. After this, make sure that you select the Features button.

It's here that we get the opportunity to make this text object transparent.

Finally, type your text and it nicely appears on a transparent background so that you can enjoy the image!
