Wander through the Greater Essex County DSB websites and you'll see that they become more functional and provide more information every day.

What's also nice to see is how student web teams have taken over the design and implementation of the websites. Pages are now filled with Flash animations and Dreamweaver effects as students in Communication Technology, Information Technology in Business and other courses show off their skills.

It's one thing to be able to sit down for hours and create a Flash animation that is just perfect. It's quite another thing to integrate it into a website in a manner that the animation doesn't dominate the site. What's nice to see in most of these webpages is the inclusion of up to date school content and happenings. As we head into the spring of the year, thoughts (and websites) turn towards graduation, semi-formals, and OSAID events. How these events apply at each school is individually created and displayed on school sites.

It's one thing to look around the Internet looking for great websites and resources. However, sometimes it pays off to take a look in our own backyards. If you haven't wandered around the GECDSB website lately looking at these wonderful creations, you're missing a great deal!
