The Hyperpage

This month --- about being experienced.

Hyperstudio comes with training wheels. Just to make sure that you don't hurt yourself, some of the advanced features are turned off. But, once you become an experienced Hyperstudio user, you can turn them on and get some more functionality to your Hyperstudio projects!

Become Experienced
Becoming an experienced Hyperstudio user isn't all that difficult. From the "EDIT" menu, select "Preferences" and check the "I'm an Experiences Hyperstudio User" check box. There isn't a test to see if you are really experienced.

More Colours
If you are not in the habit of using tear-off toolbars, you need to try one. Tear off the "COLORS" toolbar by placing your cursor on the menu item and pulling it away from its normal drop down position. Looking at the grid, you have an 8x8 set of choices. But, do this. Point to any of the colours and double click. Up pops an additional window entitles "More Colors" where you have a 16x16 set of colours. Don't you feel powerful?

Resizing Cards
Probably a more used feature is the ability to use cards of differing sizes. By default, the size of a Hyperstudio card is 512x342. Once you're experience, however, you can change that when you start a new stack from scratch. You'll be presented with the following dialogue:

Pick a new size and you're off to cards in your stack with new sizes to them, if you so desire. Please note that these options are also available if you select "About this Stack" from the "Options" menu.
