First Class Email Tips and Tricks

Why upgrade to version 5.5 of First Class?

Good question. Over the next while, some of the very new features of First Class version 5.5 will be identified. There are a LOT of really good reasons to get the new client.

Your Preferences:

The new version gives you more control about how you operate in the First Class environment, including many of the things that people have asked for over the years.

From the EDIT MENU, select PREFERENCES at the very bottom. You'll be presented with a number of tabs that let you configure just how First Class looks and works for you. Perhaps the most useful configuration appears under the DOCUMENT EDITING tab. Want to put some spice into your replies? How about automatically changing the font, the font size and have your own signature colour? It's all available on this screen. You can even customize how your Spell Checker works. You do spell check beefour you send, don't you?

Speaking of signatures...wouldn't it be nice if you could automatically sign your messages so that people know just who you are and what you do? It can be automatic with the new client. Click on the SIGNATURE tab and complete the form and it will be tacked onto the bottom of every email message you send or conference posting you create.

And...because you changed the font, the font size, and the colour in the DOCUMENT EDITING tab, your signature takes on the new appearance you set.

The above two tips will get you started with the new client software. Look for even more in future issues.
