The
JavaScript Source |
Finally, it's worth a bit of acknowledgement to the folks that gave us the snow on this month's index page. JavaScript is a very powerful extension to the web authoring process. You'll notice, if you look carefully, examples of JavaScript all through the GEC Computers in the Classroom website. Much of the simpler things are written by yours truly for an effect. Some of the intermediate level things are generated by the web authoring tools that I use as I assemble the newsletter. Currently, I'm using Dreamweaver and it does a terrific job with the functions that I require for my purpose.
When the going gets tough (or snowy), it's time to turn to the experts. The JavaScript Source is a great place to turn. People write the darnedest things and then make them available for others to enjoy. It's just a matter of taking the code from the site and putting it into the appropriate place on your web page and voila, it's snowing. Now, some of this stuff can be downright annoying but, used properly, JavaScript can add perfect final touches to your production. As long as visitors to your website have relatively recent internet browsers they can enjoy your efforts.
