Blended Solutions Project Update

At the Elementary CIESC meeting, Jenni Donohoo updated everyone on the progress of this project involving Leamington District Secondary School, Mill Street, and Pelee Island Public Schools. As part of the commitment to the project, teachers and staff must develop and share a large number of resources. As the result of writing teams, these resources are beginning to appear on the Blended Solutions Project site. http://www.gecdsb.on.ca/d&g/ICT/

Click on the Resources tab to dig in and help yourself. Many of the resources have been created using the Ontario Curriculum Unit Planner. More than just a single black line master, you'll find entire units that can be used in your classroom or, even better, modified to your own circumstances in the Planner for use.

King Edward Times

One of the elements of successful writing, is to just write.

At King Edward Public School, students are doing so with the King Edward Times, an online student created newspaper.

Students are divided into writing, editing, and publishing teams to create and post the content to this newspaper. Congratulations to the Teacher Librarian, Kerry Green-Duren for such a terrific endeavour.

WebQuest Locator Update

The online version of the WebQuest Locator remains the most current resource for webquests that are categorized by division and subject area according to the Ontario Curriculum. How do you find webquests when you're not connected to the Internet? Download the standalone version of the Locator. Recently refreshed, the total number of current webquests is 909. Windows version, Macintosh version. Looking for something different? Try the Palm version. It doesn't come with all 909 entered; but it does come seeded with the webquests from the GEC WebQuest collection.
