  2. Install the Report Card.
Once you have downloaded the report card from your secretary, you need to install it on your home computer. You will need to have already installed Filemaker Pro on your computer. If you've done first term's progress report on your computer, you will have done this already. Filemaker Pro is located on your Teachers' Essentials CD-ROM.
  3. Select your students.
The report card that you've downloaded actually has all of the JK and SK students that are enrolled at your school. You will filter from this list all of the students that you are reporting on.
  4. Select your expectations.
For the current term, and the current class, you need to identify the expectations that are being assessed and reported on. You will do this by identifying the expectations from the panel on the right by clicking on them and they populate your report card. Remember to press ENTER after each expectation selected. IMPORTANT: The box on the report card on your computer may appear to get bigger than the layout. Do not be concerned about this; the report card has been designed to print perfectly from your secretary's computer.
  5. Enter Comments.
Undoubtedly, the procedure that takes the longest. For each student, and each subject area, you must identify at what level the student meets the expectation and comment on each. Make sure that your comments do not make the box on the report card format grow or they may not appear in the final printing of the document. Your secretary will do the attendance and lates once you have submitted your reports.
  6. Exit the Report Cards.
When you're done, exit the Report Card application. All of the edits and changes that you have made will be automatically saved to your computer's hard drive, as well as a backup file.
