Not necessarily new, put staying with the focus on Macromedia Studio MX components... Working with components of the Macromedia product line is not new to Greater Essex County web pages. The most popular and recognizable component of the Suite of software programs has to be Macromedia Flash. If you wander around the Greater Essex County website, you'll find evidence of these programs in use. One beautiful example has to be at the Harrow District High School's home page. The hawk on the opening page is cute, but done with a java class. However, enter the site and take a look at the navigation menu on the left. It's done with Macromedia Flash. Move your cursor down over the really tough looking hawk to see the effect that Flash generates.
Even I got into the act. If you take a look at the No Bullying Proposal webquest, you'll note that the animation buttons are "Flash Buttons" which Dreamweaver MX creates on the fly. If you check out the GEC Computers in the Classroom page, the logo flies in via a Flash movie. And, finally, the logo on the index page of this newsletter is a Flash movie and the menu buttons on this edition of the newsletter are all created in Dreamweaver MX as Flash buttons. As more and more people get comfortable with working with the software studio, I know that we can expect great things appearing on our webpages.
