February 2004

Dan Mooney - Gisèle Winger - Ric Woltz

We are pleased to announce that, due to the success of the HyperStudio Festival held the last few years, that this year a Multimedia Festival will held to celebrate the efforts of our students' multimedia authoring.

Multimedia Festival?
What's the difference? Well this year we are also inviting students/teachers to submit KidPix and iMovie projects as well as the very successful HyperStudio projects.

So when should you start?
You can start as soon as it works into your schedule. Some schools have already been creating projects in Hyperstudio and KidPix. If you haven't, there is no time better than the present. The Festival will conclude in time to celebrate the projects for Education Week, therefore your submission deadline is April 30th, 2004.

What can you do?
The purpose is to celebrate how multimedia authoring fits into the curriculum. Any project with ties to the Ontario Curriculum is welcome. Hyperstudio, KidPix and iMovie lends itself nicely to Language, Social Studies and Science, but it can be used in all kinds of situations. Turn your students free to be creative.

How Many entries can be submitted?

HyperStudio:
There is a limit of 6 entries per school.
KidPix:

Wow! Just think your school could potentially submit 18 projects to the festival.
Ideally it would be nice to see 2 submissions per division.
