What's New at GECDSB?

100th Day of School
This is a big event. It's a huge event. And, now, to support the cause there's the 100th Day of School Resource page. Check it out at: http://www.gecdsb.on.ca/d&g/100thday.htm. Hopefully, we'll have some original ideas of our own to add to the page. Thanks to the good folks at Gore Hill Public School for letting us know that this year the 100th day falls on February 9, 2005.

Mathville Middle School
Newly licensed by OSAPAC, this software package addresses Mathematics curriculum expectations from Grades 6 to 8. A link to this new software package appears on the Student Reference Portal and the SSTs are busy installing it on school networks.

Multimedia Festival
We've held this for the past four years. The Multimedia Festival exits to showcase some of the most innovative and exciting projects from our young multimedia authors. If you're working in Hyperstudio, Kidpix, iMovie, or Macromedia Flash and want to get involved, check out the poster for details. CD-ROMs of all of the submitted entries will be distributed to contributing schools..

eTeacher Support
Now, when you have problems with eTeacher, you don't have to shuffle papers looking for the one piece of paper. Available from the GEC Computers in the Classroom PD page, you have access to all of the help files via an internet connection. In addition to the printed materials, check out the movies showing how to perform various report card related actions.
