Hyperstudio Festival
To promote the use of Hyperstudio in Greater Essex County schools, a Hyperstudio Festival is held annually to celebrate student efforts in the development of multimedia projects. It's amazing what students can do when they are provided Hyperstudio, Kidpix, Clay Animation, digital cameras, graphics software and some inspiration. The stacks submitted as part of this festival are pressed to CD-ROM and a copy given to each school to inspire new students. Details about the current Festival can be found in the GEC Computers in the Classroom newsletter.

The Answer to Every Question is: Hyperstudio
On December 13, 2001, Gisèle Winger and I presented on this topic at the Western Regional Computer Advisory Committee's Symposium 2001 Conference in London Ontario. A copy of our handout can be found here. (Adobe Acrobat Format)

Clay Animation
I have been very fortunate to work with Gisèle Winger and Janice Blencowe as we team-deliver the Clay Animation in Hyperstudio Projects workshop. Many of the successful projects from the workshop and by Greater Essex County students are shared on the Clay Animation webpage.

Project Ideas

Looking for a Hyperstudio project for the one computer classroom? How about taking a digital image of each student and place the image on a single card. Each student then has the opportunity to add a text box and perhaps a voice clip to introduce her/himself. Guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser when parents visit your classroom!

Hyperstudio is the ideal tool for collaborative student projects. Have each student create one card of their research and then you provide the links to link them all together. For example, a multimedia project where each student researches the life and times of a particular Prime Minister is easily stitched together to provide a permanent record for years to come.
