Really Quick Webpages!

If you are a frequent, power user of the Internet and use Internet Explorer, you will have undoubtedly kept a good supply of Favourites in your browser. That way, you can always get back to a great website if you need to.

There might come a time when you want to share those links with others. What better way than to create a webpage of the links by yourself. Internet Explorer has a wizard that helps you crank out a webpage in no time flat!

From the File Menu, select "Import and Export" and this will take you to the wizard. The fun begins...

This looks promising; let's proceed.

I'm going to ask Internet Explorer to Export my favourites. Note that they could go to another browser or a file.

The folder that I'm exporting the links from is entitled "Doug's Math Links".

Finally, change your options to point to a location and type of export. In this case, I asked Internet Explorer to export the favourites to my desktop into a webpage called "bookmark.htm". Not too original but very functional! It's also important to remember just where you're saving this file so that you can find it later!

Ta dah! The deed is done. I can now open my browser, point to the desktop, and I'll find a webpage called "bookmark.htm". It contains live links to everything that was in my favourites folder.

All of the links are live and can now be shared with anyone I wish. I could post them to the Internet, put them in my handout folder for the students, distribute the URL to anyone else, etc.

What could be slicker?
