Great news for Macintosh OS X users. Until now, if you were running OS X, you had to use the OS 9 version of the First Class client or the testing version of the OS X client.

This month, the final release of the OS X client was announced and it's now ready for download at this location.

Just like the Windows users of the latest client, there are some caveats when used in conjunction with our host system. Some of the features will not work. Notably, the ability to save your password is a feature that doesn't work with our host, at present.

So, you get online and start using the First Class system. With the huge amount of conferences that are available and the limited time to visit them all, the discriminating user sets priorities for what she/he reads.

Of course, you'd read your school conference and then perhaps check out the Buy and Sell Conference. You're going to want to devour the Computer Conferences. How do you know, when the time to post comes along, where to send your public message?

Each conference on the system has a conference properties entry. By selecting the properties of a conference (right click on the conference folder for Windows, CTRL-Click on a Macintosh) and read what the content of the conference is supposed to cover and post appropriately.

Appropriately is the key word. Everyone appreciates reading a well crafted post. Once, anyway. However, when the same message is plastered over and over again, conference after conference, even the wittiest and most sincere message becomes tiresome. To be most effective, the common wisdom is to choose your conference wisely and post appropriately!
