One of the nice things about computer use is that you can run simulations on real life scenarios safely, without physical risk. Not only can you run it once, but you can run it a number of times with the same or different results.
Hydroville is one of these environments. The simulation features a number of catastrophies from a Mysterious Illness Outbreak to a Pesticide Spill to understanding Water and Indoor Air Quality. All of these are very important topics and especially timely. The projects not only address expectations from the Science curriculum, but incorporate elements of Social Sciences, Mathematics, and Language Arts.
