More Blogging
http://fc.gecdsb.on.ca/~relish/blog/

We have another classroom coming online using blogging as a communication vehicle with parents, students, and school community.

Check out Mr. Relic's Grade 7&8 Blog from Ruthven Public School.

Even More Blogging
http://secondary.ontarioblogs.com/?cat=53

Check out the blogging from Ms. Comartin's secondary school students in the Secondary School Blogging Project.

Maybe it's not cool to interact about good literature in class, but it is cool to interact with a blog and share opinions with others. And, it's a good chance to do some creative writing expression as well.

Flash at Forster
http://www.gecdsb.on.ca/schools/SEC/forster/

Macromedia Flash is everywhere at the J.L. Forster Secondary School. It's used tastefully and adds a lot of interest to the navigation through the site.

If you head into the departments area and, of course, into Computer Science, check out the galleries. The Flash gallery shows a great deal of effort and expertise in the design. All of the student efforts are spectacular and, if you've done this sort of thing, you'll know that they take a great deal of design and patience to complete. Check out the drawing of the Spartan head.

eTeacher4 Support
http://www.gecdsb.on.ca/d&g/eteacher4/

Changes in the Ontario Curriculum has made it necessary to upgrade the eTeacher program that is used to create elementary school report cards. There are some subtle changes to the program but experienced eTeacher3 teachers should have no problem with the new program.

In case, a help site with some of the commonly used features is posted to the board's webserver. If you get in a bind, click on over.

Online Databases
http://www.gecdsb.on.ca/d&g/portal/subscriptions.htm

From the Student Reference Portal, there are links to all kinds of databases that are available for students and teachers to conduct their research. Some are free on the internet and others are password protected. With the appropriate password, they are accessible both at school and from at home.

Recently, the Knowledge Ontario initiative has promised even more access to commercial databases for students and teachers. Consequently, it was decided to create an online Virtual Library link page to these databases.

This resource can be accessed from the Student Reference Portal or directly from the link above. If you require the remote password to access these resources from at home, contact your school's teacher librarian.
