The Hyperpage

In an earlier Hyperpage, I told you about WAVmaker a utility for creating WAV files for use in Hyperstudio. This past month, I received the following email from Polyhedric Software notifying that a new version of the software was available. I thank them for the update and encourage you to visit the new site.

At your page http://www.wboe.edu.on.ca/d&g/feb98/hpage.htm you mention WAVmaker, but provide an obsolete link. WAVmaker (currently at version 3.0) is now at http://www.polyhedric.com/software where you will also find lots of other audio-related software. You also mention the size of the WAVs created. That's unavoidable, since WAVs are simply plain recordings whose size depend only on their duration and sound quality; at CD quality, one minute is roughly 10 MB. But once the WAV has been created, it can easily be converted to a compressed format such as MP3. We have an archive of MP3 examples at our site (you will find the link on WAVmaker's main page) which you may find interesting.

Perhaps one of the terrific lesser used features, the authors have given you some cards that just require a little effort to turn them into an integral part of your stack. These cards come with series of objects already placed on the them. As with any card, change to the editing tools and you can further customize these cards.
