What's New in Computers at GECDSB?

The Hyperstudio Festival was completed on time! It was really exciting to see the projects roll in. Teachers and students alike really bought into turning some of the finest writing and research into Multimedia.

The ultimate goal of the Festival was to celebrate the terrific efforts of student work by generating a CD-ROM of the projects for all of our schools. Our trustees were the first to enjoy the final production as they kicked off Education Week in Greater Essex County. Anderdon's Jenni Laing and Brittany Peterson gave a short presentation about the hard work and satisfaction that goes into the development of projects like this.

Of course, we couldn't just turn some CD-ROMs with blank backs (or magic marker written) into the schools. Enter the talents of Reg Houle at the Media Centre. Reg designed this wonderful artwork for the back.

On the CD-ROM, you will find both Macintosh and Windows Hyperstudio stack viewers if you don't have Hyperstudio installed on the computer that you use. Once you load Hyperstudio or the Hyperstudio viewer, open the HOME.STK file on the CD-ROM to see...

All of the student stacks are just a click away from the following menu of choices.

What's exciting to note is just how many schools got involved. When you consider that, behind each of these projects, is an innovative teacher and excited students, it's terrific to see. There's also a wide variety of curriculum areas that ended up in projects as well!

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Festival. I hope that you enjoyed it and that you also enjoy viewing all of the submitted projects.
