Recently, I received an email from Roseland's Sue Bassett-Gold letting me know that the new round of Thinkquest projects are online. Thinkquest projects are highly renowned for showcasing excellent student research and creativity.
In Grade 5, of course, we have the unit of Early Civilizations in the Social Studies Curriculum. At the Thinkquest site, one of the projects dealt with Ancient Egypt.
From the Nile to Amulets and Jewelry to the role of cats in Ancient Egypt, you will find them all referenced in this particular Thinkquest project.
As you visit the site, consider two things. First of all, there's some pretty thorough reference and research presented here. Above and beyond that, why shouldn't more of OUR research projects be turned into web resources for all of our schools to enjoy.
