Newly received from OSAPAC:
The big news, as posted on the OSAPAC website, is the announcement of the licensing for Microsoft Publisher 2002, Sun's Star Office 7, and Smart Ideas, a graphic organizer. Star Office, a product compatible with Microsoft Office, will come with student takehome rights. Until the shipment and release, if you are interested in previewing these software titles, consider downloading the latest version of Open Office from http://www.openoffice.org and Smart Ideas from http://www.smarttech.com/products/smartideas/downloads.asp. At the annual ECOO Conference in Mississauga, the OSAPAC committee revealed a new section to the OSAPAC website. Now, when you search for a software title, you'll have link to an Ontario Learning materials repository. Ontario educators are encouraged to upload lessons, ideas, templates, projects, etc. to the website and tie it to a particular OESS licensed software title. Now, when you do a search, you'll be presented with the number of learning materials that have been submitted and are online. Just download them and you have instant resources! Now when you search for a title like Adobe Photoshop Elements, the results look like this.
Click the title of the software for a descriptor, click on the "Curr.Expect" link to find a list of curriculum expectations that the software addresses and now, click to download any or all of the "5 Resources" that are now available.
