You know that you're dating yourself when you start to talk about how much better it was when you learned how to type. Remember "feet flat on the floor, eyes on your copy, begin".

There are still a great deal of hangovers from those days. But, let's face it. Typing was taught on typewriter; you were typing on a typewriter; you had a ribbon with both black and red tape on it (unless you got a deal on the all black ones that were used in education; and you had an eraser with a brush on the end of it to repair mistakes.

I loved the title of this webpage "Make Peace with Punctuation". It's all part of a webpage tutorial designed to make you more proficient at making readable web pages. The section that particularly intrigued me was the discussion of two spaces after a period. Anyone who took a typing course has, I'm sure, has fond memories of two spaces after punctuation marks. But, again, you probably were learning on a typewriter using Courier font. And, it snowed a lot more back then too!

Net Mechanic is full of tips and tools to make even more impressive web sites. Check it out and save yourself some stress on that right thumb by cutting back on the spaces!
