The Multimedia Page

Ensuring that students have a good collection of clipart to appropriately document their products is always a challenge. Your internet connected computer and browser isn't always the best choice. Often Internet searches will return content that's inappropriate or, even if you find something appropriate, it may not be copyright clear for someone to grab and use in their own productions.

The Media link on the Student Reference Portal has always been a resource for this sort of activity. OSAPAC has licensed a new collection and it's available on school networks. Specifically chosen to complement the Ontario Curriculum, this should be another source for quality images for inclusion in projects.

The images are accessed via a front end that lets the student enter key words and narrow down the type of image that is required. The software lets you save the particular image in a desired format after resizing and repurposing the image.

Once saved, It's a simply matter to open your publishing application and insert the image that you've chosen.

If you've ever spent hours looking for just the right piece of media for a project, you're going to appreciate the ease with which content can be found and put into place. Since the goal was to collect images that support the Curriculum, the actual search time should be optimized.
