eTeacher 2: Printing a Report Card
  • Go to the Report section
  • Choose Report Card Maker.
  • Click the Print button under Setup.

  • Choose the class in the first column (on the left) you want to print by clicking on it once.
  • Flag the student(s) whose report cards you wish to print by clicking next to their name(s).

  • Select which term report you wish to print and which pages.
  • You may only wish to print page 1 and 2 since page 3 is for parent comments.
  • Finally click the Print button in the bottom right corner.

eTeacher2: Saving Your Comment Library

  • After loading eTeacher go to Report and choose Comment Builder.
  • From the Comment Builder click Export Library (at the top).

  • In most cases you will want to include all of your comments and statements in this library. However if you wish to create a library consisting of only some of your comments and statements click the appropriate buttons.

  • Fill in the relevant Library Details (i.e. Your name and/or Term 1 etc.)

  • Click the Save as button on the bottom.

  • The next box to be displayed requires you to indicate
    • the type of file,
    • the file name and
    • the location on the computer you wish to save the tab file.
  • Click on the small black triangle at the end of the Save In: line and a menu will pop up. Select Desktop with your mouse. Release your mouse button when Desktop is highlighted
  • Type the name of your tab file in the small box below the words Save as:. Name it T1library.tab to indicate that this is your term 1 library.
  • Select Tab (Tab-Separated Text) in the Save of Type area by using the same technique you used for selecting the Desktop.
  • Click Save.

Recovering a Damaged File

At times, usually due to incorrect or accidental shutdown a file from the Report Card or Eteacher can become corrupted. As a result Filemaker wants to RECOVER the file.

To do this:

  • Immediately write down the name of the file or files that Filemaker says are corrupt.. (ie. collect_.fp3)
  • At this point close down homerep or eTeacher and then reopen Filemaker, not the Report or eT
  • If a New Data Base Screen appears, click Cancel.
  • Click File > Recover
  • When the Open Damaged File Window appears, Look in: the folder where your problem is (either eTeacher 2 or home25)
  • Click on the problem file in my case collect_.fp3
  • Click Open
  • The Name Recovered File Window will appear.
  • Allow Filemaker to rename the file with Recovered following it.
  • Click Save.
  • When the Recovery is complete screen comes up, click OK.
  • Close Filemaker.
  • At this point, Click on My Computer and then Click on C:
  • Find either your HOME or ETEACHER folder and open it by clicking.

IMPORTANT:

  • Right Mouse Click on the original corrupt file (collect_.fp3) and rename
  • Rename the file so it slightly differs (ie. collec2_.fp3)
  • After renaming the original corrupt file, find the new recovered file (ie. collect_Recovered.fp3) and rename as above to the name of the original file (ie. collect_.fp3) You must insert the _ (Shift-)
  • If you have other corrupt files, repeat the procedure. When finished, restart homerep or eTeacher.

  • Choose Tab-Separated Text from the small box to the right of the word Type:.
  • Type the name of your tab file in the small box below the words Save as:. You may wish to name it library.tab. If you are planning on creating separate libraries for each termyou can name it T1library.tab (The T1 will indicate Term 1).
  • Finally click the Save button.
  • You should now exit eTeacher and copy the file to a disk or attach it to an email message so you have a backup of the file. If you are not sure how to do this check step 2 of the appropriate eTeacher2 Exporting (your tab file) directions.

Macintosh: Recovering a Damaged File

  • Double-clicking will reveal the contents of the folder (files, etc.).

IMPORTANT:

  • Click once on the NAME of the original corrupt file (collect_.fp3). DO NOT CLICK ON THE FILE..
  • When you click on the name it will become highlighted.
  • Rename the file so it slightly differs (ie. collec2_.fp3)
  • After renaming the original corrupt file, find the new recovered file (ie. collect_Recovered.fp3) and rename as above to the name of the original file (ie. collect_.fp3) You must insert the _ (Shift-)
  • If you have other corrupt files, repeat the procedure. When finished, restart homerep or eTeacher.
