Creating a Class in All
The Right Type in SchoolConnect
Login and go to the Teacher Community.
Start the Utility Centre
Enter the password drowssap and click OK.
From the File menu choose
Recordfile.
When the Recordfiles window opens click
New.
Use the keyboard to enter a name for your class when
the New Recordfile window appears. Then click
OK.
A new untitled recordfile will appear.
You can now begin adding students. You may wish to
enter first names only.
Click on the small yellow button at the top with the
image of a student and a "+", or choose Add
Student from the Edit menu.
When the Student Options window appears enter
the student's name. Then click Save at the
bottom.
Repeat the procedure until you have entered all of
your students.
Exit the Utility Centre.
Students can now login.
When the students arrive at the Sign-On
screen, they must click on their class and then click
Open.
Next click on the student name from the list. Then
click the Select button at the bottom.
Click Continue.
Begin keyboarding.
Creating a Class in All The Right Type
in Macintosh Manager
Login and go to the staff workgroup
Start the Utility Centre
Leave the password blank and click OK. (The
password at some schools is drowssap.)
From the File menu choose New -->
Recordfile or click the yellow Recordfile tool at the
top left corner
A new untitled recordfile will appear.
You can now begin adding students. You may wish to
enter first names only.
Click on the small yellow button at the top with the
image of a student and a "+" or choose Add Student
from the Edit menu or hold down the apple key
and press A.
When the Add Student window appears enter the
student's name. Then click Add at the bottom.
Repeat the procedure until you have entered all of
your students.
From the File menu choose Save and save
the recordfile to your documents folder.
Exit the Utility Centre.
Exit the Staff workgroup and enter your class
workgroup.
When you arrive at the Panels view of Mac Manager you
should see the Applications on the green panel on the
left side and the blue documents panel on the
right.
Click on the Group Shared icon in your blue
documents folder to open it.
With the three panels open, (green - programs,
blue - documents and purple - Group Shared f,
click on an open area in the blue documents panel.
The scroll bar should now be visible in the blue
documents panel.
From the File menu choose Copy (near
the bottom).
When the copy window appears click once on the record
file you created from the list below the words "Select
items".
Below the list click in the To: section and
choose Group Shared. Then click OK.
The class record file will be copied to the Group
Shared folder.
Exit the Utility Centre.
Students can now login.
When the students arrive at the login screen, they
must click on the Desktop button on the
right.
Next click on the folder with your name once to
select it and then click Open.
Next click on the Group Shared folder once to
select it and then click Open.
Now click on the class record file once to select it
and then click Select.
Finally when the class list appears, click on the
appropriate student and then click Select.
Click Continue and begin using All the Right
Type.
