ABC's
to Excel http://www.forsyth.k12.ga.us/kadkins/abc.htm |
So, you've mastered Appleworks or Excel or Quattro Pro and you're ready to turn this new found ability into a quality mathematics simulation. Where do you go for inspiration? One place certainly would be to your network and to the Superpack resources. Working with spreadsheets will give your students a real confidence in their calculations and ability to predict and then test a hypothesis. Still looking for more ideas?
The layout is very cute. Each activity begins with a letter and then links to a page where you'll find additional information and, perhaps, a template for the activity. As with all computer activities, use this as a starting point. The whole concept behind the use of spreadsheets is one of testing hypotheses and the "what if" scenario. Use it. What if we do this? What happens if we insert a row here? How does my calculation change if I do that? The possibilities are endless.
