New
School Information
http://www.gecdsb.on.ca/
As the
new GECDSB website assumes its position on the web, many changes have
been made. Notably different will be what the visitor sees as they
try to get to a school website.
Previously,
there were popup menus that let you pick your school from the list
of elementary or secondary schools. No longer.
Instead,
the new website has a "Schools" menu. Due to the large number of elementary
schools, they have been subdivided equally. A list will take you immediately
to the directory of secondary schools.
But, before
you see the school website, an intermediary page is displayed. High
resolution up to date images of the school buildings along with access
to individual school improvement plans are available to the website
visitor. Then, a link to the school website takes you to the content
that is directly controlled by the school.

Changes
in the Ontario Curriculum has made it necessary to upgrade the eTeacher
program that is used to create elementary school report cards. There
are some subtle changes to the program but experienced eTeacher3 teachers
should have no problem with the new program.
In
case, a help site with some of the commonly used features is posted
to the board's webserver. If you get in a bind, click on over.
