On November 11, classes stop and observe those who lost their lives in foreign wars. It's a sobering ritual devoted to the concept of never allowing us to forget those who gave so much for us in Canada's contribution to the cause. This year's remembrance will mark the 80th anniversary of the end of the First World War.

Veterans Affairs Canada has a web site filled with articles and pictures designed to keep the memory alive for those who visit the site via the Internet. Online, you will find recollections from various veterans, a historical perspective of Canada's contributions, and much more.

Much of the information that you will find online is very suitable as credible resources detailing the Canadian involvement in foreign wars.

For the teacher, however, there is an entire page devoted to providing resources and reference for use in the classroom.
