It really isn't heresy. It's just that there are so many multimedia programs available through OSAPAC licensing, that the scope of things multimedia needs to expand.

Look for ideas for Kidpix, Flash, iMovie, and of course, Hyperstudio on this page throughout the year.

The first tip this year is an activity with Kidpix and you might be able to use this with anything dealing with community or any activity where you just want to label things.

In this case, I have a picture of Anderdon Public School that I've imported as a background into Kidpix. (Add, Import Background from the hidden menu at the top of the screen.)

Now, from the "Running Dog" tool, I'm going to bring in appropriate letters to label things.

Select any other tool from the tools selection to make the borders go away and click on the green play button to see the effect. Pretty neat.

But don't stop there. On the surface, Kidpix looks like a simple drawing program. However, it does export projects into some big time formats like Quicktime or Flash movies.

Once exported, they become prime materials to post to your class website.

There's a world of opportunities to use this technique. Go for it!
