Updating that resume
On the FirstClass system, everyone is required to have a resume. With the resume, it's easy to determine just who and where a particular person who sends you a message is from. It's also a way to personalize your FirstClass personna as well.

To update your resume, head to the File Menu, and select Open, and then Resume. Or, if you're into keyboard shortcuts, it's CTRL-5 under Windows and COMMAND-5 on your Macintosh.

The top area of your resume is just full of fields to fill in as you see fit. You can also copy an image from your computer and paste it into the image box in the top left corner. You then have the bottom part of the window where you can go change some fonts, paste more pictures, change the colour and do much more.

How much or how little you add to your resume is limited by creativity and also a knowledge that anyone on the system can check out your resume. If you don't want people to call you on your cell phone, don't add it!

If you're into more disclosure, notice that there are additional tabs where you can drop notes, attachments, alternative email addresses, and all kinds of other things.

Newly hired employees need to complete their resume and call the Help Desk at
255-3300 before full access to the FirstClass system is given.

Keeping an online resume up to date is just as important as keeping your professional resume up to date. If you're at a new location this year, you should reflect that change in your resume. That way, people can find you!

To view other people's resume, all that you have to do is find their name in a FirstClass field. (Message from, Message to, Who's Online). Give their name a double click and there's the resume.
