The Hyperpage

This month ... better butterflies ...

While Hyperstudio does comes with its own graphic editor, it is still fairly primitive. You've got a better drawing program at your disposal. This program is Kidpix.

Kidpix has all of the editing tools that you would find in Hyperstudio and much more. Think of all of the things that you can do with the whacky paintbrush. Then, there's the stamp set. And the "Color Me" activities and then there's the mixer and then the fonts and then, well you get the picture.

Using Kidpix to draw is, well, kid's stuff. When you go to save your masterpiece you'll notice that it saves the drawings in a Bitmap format. That's precisely what Hyperstudio likes to use for its graphics.

From the "Objects" menu, select "Add a Graphic Object" and locate your Kidpix drawing. As with all importing graphics, resize it if you need to do and place the object on your card in the desired position.

While you're at it, how about building in a little mathematics? In the butterfly above, I used the symmetry tool in the whacky paintbrush menu to make sure that my butterfly was perfectly balanced.

Kidpix and Hyperstudio...a perfect match!
