Parent Associations

What is S.E.A.C.?

Special Education Advisory Committee (S.E.A.C.) is a school board committee with trustee and local association representation established under Regulation 464/97: Special Education Advisory Committee.

A local association is an organization of parents that operates within the area of jurisdiction of the board to further the interests and well being of one or more groups of children or adults who are exceptional. It is affiliated with an association or organization that is incorporated and operates throughout Ontario.

When Does S.E.A.C. Meet?

The Special Education Advisory Committee meets 10 times a year, normally the second Tuesday of the month from September to June. Meetings are usually held at the Board Office, 451 Park St. W., Windsor but may be held elsewhere as the committee may decide. The start time is 1:00 pm and meetings are open to the public. SEAC members elect a chairperson and meetings follow a prepared agenda with open discussion periods provided for members to raise relevant subjects.
