Davis Helps Haiti
Like all Canadians, Davis staff
and students have been saddened and shocked by the effects
of the earthquake in Haiti. We have experienced it, as we often do at Davis,
as if it were a family event.
Some good news from Ms. Kozma...
"I just wanted to let you know that as a school we raised $1406.36
for
Haiti. The cheque was deposited to Free The Children today. This will
translate into almost $30,000 for the desperately
needed medical supplies
for the Haitian victims. 2/3 T's $83.05 from
their class' fundraising
efforts has been sent to the board office to go towards the shelterboxes."
Shubneet, a grade 5 student, had
saved $100 dollars over a long time, and was
planning
on buying herself a much-awaited present this year. She decided that her best
present would be
to donate it towards the crisis in Haiti, so she did.
We applaud Shubneet for her compassion and caring.
