At Davis Public School, our focus is primarily on the academic success of each and every student. We do this in a variety of ways including:
Differentiated instruction
Reading Blocks that focus on read aloud, guided reading, shared and independent reading
Writing Blocks that focus on the Writers Workshop approach and the use of the Write Traits program
Ongoing assessments using such tools as the Dibles, Mary Clay Concepts of Print, Developmental Reading (DRA), Comprehension Attitudes Strategies Interests (CASI) and running records data assessment tools.
Resources aimed at the students level from materials gathered from our book room and ministry documents

What we value most is that our students become productive citizens. Establishing a School Action Research Team
Training all teachers on the use of the Smart Board Technology
Developing a Student Essential Disk to establish a link between computer use at home and at school
Timetabling that reflects a mentoring model for teachers to utilize the technology available at the school
The introduction of "PowerPoint" style presentations in the classroom/ computer room
Establishment of an outdoor learning garden
Novelty programs such as the after school Art and Juggling Clubs
Participation in new program initiatives such as the Learning Through The Arts and the Head Start Program
Establishment of the Internal Review Committee ,an internal accountability system that utilizes the Specialized Support Staff assigned to the school
