Permission was granted to Sandwich East Township Board, by William G. Davis, Ontario Minister of Education, for use of his name. |
| May 1966 | Robert C. McIntosh named principal. |
| August 15,1966 | Construction started by Lombardo Construction Company - contracted at $425,908 including furnishings. |
| April 1, 1967 | Construction completed. |
| September 5, 1967 | School opened for use with 7 staff members. The enrollment on open day was 180 pupils. |
| January 31, 1968 | Official opening of the school. The guest speaker was the Honourable W. G. Davis. |
| April 15, 1969 | Tender for second floor addition was tendered to Kehl Construction of Harrow for $340,849.00 |
| August 20, 1969 | Construction of addition began. |
| March 31, 1970 | Second floor occupied by grades 1 to 3. |
