We serve approximately 700 students, consisting of JK/SK to grade eight pupils and three classes of students with Developmental Disabilities (primary, junior and intermediate levels). We enjoy a diversified community, with many families of differing backgrounds, languages, cultures, and customs. Northwood draws its student population from a large area and about 90% of the student population is transported to and from school by bus.
Within our school, our staff and students strive to support the school's philosophy, "I make a difference". Together, we emphasize the values of excellence, cooperation, and respect. Our Student Council/Parliament activities encourage school wide participation among students. Our excellent staff is committed to serving the community in the best possible way. They continue to be active in professional activities related to new programs and materials, curriculum development, program delivery, assessment, and evaluation. Our School Council has been working actively to promote our common goals. We are proud of the sense of community spirit we have achieved at Northwood.
