Ignorance is NOT Bliss

Plastic bags and pop cans roam the street as the wind picks up and blows them along the roads of Canada and the world. People toss litter in places like this everyday without a second thought. Pedestrians walk by paying no heed to the constant presence of trash in their neighborhoods. They believe that what they don’t see won’t hurt them. Too many people today are ignorant to the effects that their lazy ways are having on our planet. They are harming our environment one piece of trash at a time whether it is a cigarette butt or a bag of take out trash. We need to educate and make the masses actually understand what they are doing to the place we live.

This time though it cannot be this lofty “Oh just recycle and turn off the lights when you leave the room”. It needs to be a solid and constant reminder of the damage they are inflicting and how to stop it. We need to make them actually care by showing them examples of what the world will become. A hot wasteland with no vegetation and animals roaming about, nothing would be able to live and neither would you. So you need to do your best and save our environment.
