2010/2011 Course Selection

The Career Cruising website will continue to accept course selections for the 2010/2011 school year. This is true both for our current students, and it will accept course selections for future students now in Grade 8.

Special Notice to All Grade 9s

Belle River District High School is offering the grade 10 "Construction Technology" TCJ2O (see below) course for 2010-2011. This course was not available to you on "Career Cruising". If you are interested in choosing this course for next year, you will need to make an appointment with your guidance counsellor. At that time the change will be made to Career Cruising.

TCJ2O - Construction Technology

This course introduces students to building materials and processes through opportunities to design and build various construction projects. Students will learn to create and read working drawings; become familiar with common construction materials, components, and processes; and perform a variety of fabrication, assembly, and finishing operations. They will use a variety of hand and power tools and apply knowledge of imperial and metric systems of measurement, as appropriate. Students will develop an awareness of environmental and social issues related to construction technology, and will explore secondary and post secondary pathways leading to careers in the industry.

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten Registration will be held February 22-March 5th.

An Open House will be held at each public school, Wednesday, February 24th, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Registration will be at your local Public School in February (watch for specific dates).

Grade 8 Night January 6

On Wednesday, January 6, 2010, we opened our doors to parents and grade 8 students in our community, by hosting an evening of information and fact-gathering for parents and prospective students.
