English Department
Welcome to the KDHS English Department, known for its excellence in English.
We offer two different streams of study at KDHS. When students enter grade 9, they will make a decision to take Academic or Applied level English. The Academic stream provides a challenging curriculum for students who wish to progress to University level courses in grade 11. This stream is necessary for students who wish to attend university beyond high school. The Applied level offers a more practical approach. In grade 11, these students move on to the College stream of courses which enables them to choose between attending college and entering the work place after high school.
Last year our school achieved a 95% success rate on the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test, surpassing the board average of 85%. The success of Kingsville students reaches beyond the school itself. Year after year, our students participate in many contests within the community and the school board often receiving recognition for their superior quality work. Come and enjoy the benefits of the English Program at KDHS!
