Attendance
Whenever a student is ill, has an appointment or will be absent for any reason, parents must call the school to inform us. The Board's Safe Arrival Policy requires every school to notify parents by phone anytime their children are absent.
Homework Policy
It is important for students to develop organization skills. The following guidelines have been established by the GECDSB:
Gr. 1 - 3: Routine homework assignments are not considered appropriate for Grade 1 to 3 students. We encourage reading at home and games that reinforce classroom skills.
Gr. 4 - 6: Students may spend 20-30 minutes per day on homework and subject review.
Gr. 7 - 8: Students should spend 30 - 60 minutes on homework or review each night. More time may be necessary if class time has not been used wisely.
